WonderLab

Course aim:

"Wonder Lab" aims to nurture young learners' natural curiosity through hands-on STEM exploration. Through guided experiments, creative problem-solving, and interactive discoveries, children develop fundamental scientific thinking, technological awareness, engineering basics, and mathematical concepts while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative skills in a fun, engaging environment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore and observe their environment using simple tools and guided experiments while following basic safety rules.

  • Show curiosity and eagerness to ask questions about everyday phenomena and participate in investigations.

  • Share discoveries and ideas with teachers and peers using simple words, drawings, or demonstrations.

Lesson Overview:

This section provides lesson highlights for each lesson and grade level. Use it to follow along with what the students are learning in class.

K1 Lesson 1 – Sensory Adventures Children explore the five senses through hands-on activities, discovering how sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste help us understand the world around us.

K2 Lesson 1 – Plant Beginnings Children explore plant parts and what they need to grow through puzzles, charades, and seed planting, sparking curiosity about nature and life cycles.

K3 Lesson 1 – Seed Starters Children explore edible plant parts, sort vegetables by where they grow, and begin a seed germination experiment to observe how water affects growth over time.

K1 Lesson 2 – Apple Explorers Children explore apples using their five senses, identify apple parts, and observe changes in liquids—blending science, art, and sensory play into a fun, hands-on learning adventure.

K2 Lesson 2 – Pumpkin Tales Children explore pumpkins through sensory play, seed counting, and planting, discovering their life cycle while building early science and vocabulary skills.

K3 Lesson 2 – Corn-tastic Adventures Children explore corn plant parts, sort corn products, and enjoy a “dancing corn” experiment, blending science, observation, and fun hands-on learning.

K1 Lesson 3 – Plant Friends Children learn plant parts, practice watering, plant seeds with cotton, and explore how sunlight and water help plants grow through songs, actions, and hands-on activities.

K2 Lesson 3 – Tummy Journey Children explore digestion by acting out food’s journey, working as digestive organs, and experimenting with bread and water to understand healthy digestion habits.

K3 Lesson 3 – Body Adventure Children discover major organs, build body models, create clay organ art, and play charades to learn each organ’s name, position, and simple function in an engaging way.

K1 Lesson 4 – Lily Pad Wonder Children create pond art with waterlilies, explore plants and animals in a pond ecosystem, and practice early math by comparing natural shapes, sizes, and patterns.

K2 Lesson 4 – Germs Be Gone Children learn how germs spread, see how soap removes them, and practice proper handwashing through engaging glitter, pepper, and water activities for healthy habits.

K3 Lesson 4 – Our Amazing Heart Children explore the heart’s location and function, listen to heartbeats, make simple stethoscopes, and discover how exercise changes heartbeat speed through fun, hands-on activities.
