• Various apples (red, green, yellow)
• Small bowls/containers
• Vinegar, baking soda, milk, water, lemon juice
• Coffee filters
• Watercolor paints
• Paintbrushes
• Scissors

Lesson Procedure
3 mins - Welcome Time
• Sing the "Hello Song"
• Introduce today's topic: "Today we're going to be apple scientists!"
• Show a puppet/toy to generate excitement
5 mins - Discovery Chat
• Display different coloured apples
• Ask: "What colours do you see?"
• Introduce vocabulary: red, green, yellow, skin, stem
• Create excitement: "We're going to explore apples in special ways!"
12 mins - Hands-On Challenge 1: Five Senses Apple Experience
• Guide sensory exploration in small groups:
- Look: "What colours and shapes do you see?"
- Touch: "How does the apple skin feel?"
- Smell: "What does the apple smell like?"
- Listen: "What sound does it make when we tap it?"
- Taste: Small apple pieces for safe tasting
• Cut apples open together:
- Show children the "star" inside
- Help children count seeds
- Carefully remove seeds and save for Challenge 3
- Place seeds in labelled containers
• Lead group discussion:
- "What did you see inside?"
- "How does the apple taste?"
- "Was it crunchy or soft?"
- "Did you find any seeds?"
- Use simple gestures to help understanding
12 mins - Hands-On Challenge 2: Apple Magic Investigation
• Set up experiment stations:
- 6 labelled containers per group
- Apple pieces
- Different liquids (Vinegar, baking soda, milk, water, lemon juice)
• Guide investigation:
- Show fresh apple piece
- Add different liquids to containers
- Make predictions using picture cards
• Place in observation area
• Create a prediction chart using simple drawings
10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 3: Apple Art Discovery
• Demonstrate coffee filter apple craft:
- Show the completed example
- Point out parts: skin, leaf, stem, seeds
• Guide creation process:
- Paint filter with watercolours
- Add stem and leaf shapes
- Place seeds in centre
• Support vocabulary during creation:
- "Paint the apple skin"
- "Add the green leaf"
- "Place the brown seeds"
3 mins - Wrap-Up
• Recap: "Today we explored apples with our senses, did apple magic, and made beautiful apples!"
• Sing the "Goodbye Song".
