Joining our Musical Theatre course is a great opportunity for students to break out of their comfort zone and learn to express themselves rhythmically, vocally and through story-telling. It will involve teamwork and, therefore, build up social skills and ultimately their confidence. We have previously performed tales such as Beauty and the Beast, the Elves and the Shoemakers and Mulan.

Rationale
To engage and encourages children to become enthusiastic and self-directed performing artists by developing a range of theatrical skills needed and a sense of achievement.

Milestones
Stage 1: Beginner Performer
Suggested Age: 3 – 6 years old

Stage 2: Elementary performers
Suggested Age: 7 – 12 years old

Assessment Details
What’s included in the assessment?

• Acting
  Facial expression and body language is key for a convincing performance
• Dancing/Choreographed Movement
  Sticking to the rhythm and moving to the beat
• Singing
  Vocal training will be given to ensure accuracy and articulation
