L2 Trash and Waste


Learning Objectives:

  • Apply the target sentence structures: The ocean is polluted because people throw plastic into it.
    Sea animals can get sick because they eat plastic trash in the ocean.
    The water in the ocean becomes dirty because there are waste and litter.
    We should not litter on the beach because it is harmful to sea animals.
    The ocean is not healthy for animals because of the plastic waste that floats in it.
    Sea turtles and fish can get tangled in plastic trash because it doesn't belong in the ocean.
    We should not throw rubbish into the ocean because it can hurt the animals living there.
    Littering is harmful because it can pollute the ocean and harm the sea animals that live there.

    **As an experienced kindergarten teacher, write 10 sentences with "There is" or "There are" to describe under the sea and coral reef for kindergarten ESL aged 5 to 6.

 


Learning Procedure:

1. 5 mins - Greeting

- Welcome the students and set a positive tone for the day.

2. 10 mins - Speaking Activity 1

- Practice constructing sentences using target sentence structure.

3. 10 mins - Speaking Activity 2

- Engage in pair or group activities where students practice using target sentence structure.

4. 5 mins - Goodbye / Closing

- Recap the speaking activities, encourage practice, and say goodbye.
