2. Children will be able to understand the concept of start and finish points using Tale-bot.

3, Children will be able to predict Tale-bot's movement path to reach a target.


Lesson Procedure

3 mins - Welcome Time

• Sing the "Hello Song"

• Introduce today's topic: "Today we're meeting a new friend: Tale-bot!"

 

7 mins - Discovery Chat: GREAT Rules

Introduce classroom rules for using Tale-bot using the acronym GREAT:

• Gentle Hands: "We touch Tale-bot gently."

• Ready to Share: "We take turns with Tale-bot."

• Everyone Listens: "We listen to instructions carefully."

• Ask for Help: "If you're not sure, ask a teacher."

• Time for Fun: "Let's enjoy learning with Tale-bot!"

 

10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 1: Tale-bot’s Journey

• Set up a simple path on the floor using tape or rope.

• Demonstrate how to guide Tale-Bot along the path using forward and backward commands.

• Let children take turns guiding Tale-Bot.

 

10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 2: Start to Finish

• Set up a "starting point" and "destination" in the room.

• Show children how to program Tale-Bot to move from start to finish.

• Encourage them to count how many "forward" commands it takes.

 

10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 3: Knock the Tower

• Use paper cups to build a tower.

• Program Tale-bot to reach the cup tower and knock down as many cups as possible

• Emphasise the use of "forward", "backward", "start", and "finish".

Extension: alter Tale-bot to increase the possibility of knocking the tower down.

 

5 mins - Wrap-Up

• Recap: "Today we met Tale-bot! We learned about starting point and destination, and the number of steps needed!"

• Sing the "Goodbye Song"
