Lesson Procedure

 

3 mins - Welcome Time

• Sing the "Hello Song"

• Introduce today's topic: "Today we're meeting a new friend: Tale-bot!"

 

7 mins - Discovery Chat: GREAT Rules

Introduce classroom rules for using Tale-bot using the acronym GREAT:

• Gentle Hands: "We touch Tale-bot gently."

• Ready to Share: "We take turns with Tale-bot."

• Everyone Listens: "We listen to instructions carefully."

• Ask for Help: "If you're not sure, ask a teacher."

• Time for Fun: "Let's enjoy learning with Tale-bot!"

 

10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 1: Get to Know Tale-bot!

• Show Tale-bot to the class

• Describe Tale-bot's features:

  - "I have two big eyes and some buttons on the top of my head."

  - "I have two red wheels."

  - "I have two blue arms."

  - "I have two yellow wings."

• Let children take turns pointing to and naming these features

• Play a simple game: "Touch Tale-bot's [feature]" (e.g., "Touch Tale-bot's blue arms")

10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 2: Learn About All Buttons

• Introduce Tale-bot's buttons: red, yellow, blue, green, and orange

• Show each button and say its color

• Play a color matching game:

  - Give children colored objects or cards

  - Ask them to match the color to the corresponding button on Tale-bot

• Practice saying the button colors together

 

13 mins - Hands-On Challenge 3: What Can Tale-bot Do?

• Demonstrate Tale-bot's functions:

  - Green button + Orange button = Go forward

  - Dance button + Orange button = Dance

  - Mic button + Orange button = Talk

  - Red button + Orange button = Go backwards

• Let children take turns pressing button combinations and observing Tale-bot's actions

• Encourage children to describe what Tale-bot is doing

• Play a simple game: Teacher calls out an action, children press the correct buttons
