> Then the big bad wolf walked to the straw house.

> He knocked on the door.

> The little pig hid inside.

> The wolf blew the house down.

> The little pig ran away to the stick house.”

LESSON PROCEDURES:

1. Begin Warm-Up (3 minutes)

- Lead gentle stretches with soft background ambience.

- Introduce the idea: “Today we will act out the story with our bodies.”

- Invite children to copy simple warm-up movements (reach, sway, tap).

2. Present Story Sound Words (5 minutes)

- Introduce key action words: pick up, build, gather, carry, walk, knock, hide, blow, run.

- Model each action slowly and clearly.

- Invite children to watch and notice how each action looks.

3. Demonstrate Showing Story Events Through Movement (6 minutes)

- Read one line of the story extract at a time.

- Pause at each action word and model the movement.

- Invite children to copy the movement linked to the action.

Example:

Teacher says: “The wolf knocked on the door.”

Teacher models knocking.

4. Guide Individual Story- Action Practice (6 minutes)

- Spread children out using floor spots.

- Read short action phrases from the story.

- Invite children to perform specific actions such as:

  - pick up straw (small scooping motions)

  - build a house (stacking motions)

  - carry bricks (slow, heavy steps)

  - walk like the wolf (steady steps)

  - hide (curling small)

  - run away (running on the spot)

5. Facilitate Group Story Re‑Telling with Actions (8 minutes)

- Arrange children in pairs, trios, or a whole group depending on class size.

- Read the simplified story extract again, one action at a time.

- Invite children to act out the story moments together as the narrator reads.

- Encourage group awareness and shared timing.

6. Lead Cool-Down and Reflection (2 minutes)

- Guide calming breaths with imagery: “Rest like a pig in the brick house… breathe slowly like the quiet forest.”

- Ask reflection prompts: “Which action did you enjoy acting?” “How did you know what to do?”

- Invite children to share their favourite story action.

ASSESSMENT

- Observe whether students recall story sequences.

- Check whether students show story events through movement.

- Assess whether students act out simple story moments during group narration.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

- Monitor spacing to prevent collisions during running or carrying actions.

- Support safe movement by modelling gentle, controlled actions.

- Ensure floor spots are secure and reduce slipping hazards.

- Maintain clear pathways for individual and group storytelling.
