Unit 2: Animal Friends Part 1

LESSON 4: Fruit Song (Part 1)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Music: Students will learn the first verse of the Fruit Song
  2. Language: Students will practice animal names and colour words
  3. Drama: Students will combine animal movements with song actions

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  1. Percussion instrument (brass pipe and wooden block)
  2. Animal puppets/pictures (Bear, Alligator, Wolf, Ostrich)
  3. Fruit props/pictures (Coconut, Apple, Watermelon, Orange)
  4. Colour cards/objects (Brown, Red, Green, Orange)

LESSON PROCEDURES:
1. Warm-up (3 minutes)
• Circle formation
• Making Juice Song with actions
• Practise fruit-squeezing movements

2. Animal & Colour Review (5 minutes)
• Show each animal puppet:
    - Name animal characters
    - Practise animal sounds
    - Review colour words
• Present matching fruits:
    - Connect animals to fruits
    - Practice colour identification
    - Show carrying actions

3. New Song Introduction (7 minutes)
• Teach the first verse melody:
    - Model simple phrases
    - Practice rhythm patterns
    - Add basic movements
• Break down lyrics:
    - Animal names practice
    - Fruit words practice
    - Colour word emphasis

4. Movement Integration (5 minutes)
• Practise animal movements:
    - Bear's strong steps
    - Alligator's crawling
    - Wolf's proud walk
    - Ostrich's tall stance
• Add fruit actions:
