Unit 6: Stage Spaces & Positions  

LESSON 4: Big Ending 
Age Group: 2-3 years old
Duration: 30 minutes

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Drama: Students will be able to demonstrate stage awareness by entering, performing, and exiting together.
  2. Music: Students will be able to sing the Sharing Song with confidence at the finale.
  3. Performance Readiness: Students will be able to celebrate presence with smiles, bows, and audience awareness.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  1. Floor markers or taped spots (assigned stage positions for ending)
  2. Animal role cards or badges
  3. Percussion instrument (chime or drum)

REMARK: If possible, carry out this lesson on the actual stage or performance space to help children become familiar with entrances, center positions, and exits in the real environment.


LESSON PROCEDURES:
1. Warm-up (3 minutes

• Invite children to form a circle.
• Sing “Sharing Song” with coordinated gestures.
• Guide fruit preparation actions with rhythm.
 

2. Introduce Stage Zones (5 minutes)

• Present stage map with entrance, center, and exit paths.
• Invite children to listen to explanation: “We enter together, we sing, we exit smoothly.”
• Guide demonstration with simple walking and bowing.
 

3.   Walk Paths with Music (7 minutes)

• Ring chime to cue all groups to enter together.
• Invite children to walk calmly with stage awareness.
• Guide groups to spread out in their finale spots.
• Reinforce smooth walking and confident presence.


4. Coordinate Group Timing & Flow (10 minutes)

• Invite children to sing the Sharing Song together in spread-out positions.
• Guide confident voices and expressive gestures (open arms, smiles).
• Invite children to bow together at the end of the song.
• Guide audience awareness by encouraging smiles and eye contact.
• Reinforce freeze pose after bows for closure.
 

5. Exit Practice (3 minutes)

• Ring chime to cue exit.
• Invite children to walk calmly along coordinated paths.
• Guide smooth transitions and awareness of spacing.
• Reinforce calm, confident exits.
 

6. Cool Down (5 minutes)

• Invite children to return to circle.
• Lead soft breathing and gentle stretching.
• Guide closing chant: “Rainbow juice is ready, thank you families.”
• Signal end with quiet humming of the Sharing Song melody.


ASSESSMENT:

1. Observe clarity of group entrance and stage awareness.
2. Assess confidence and timing in singing the Sharing Song.
3. Evaluate celebration gestures (smiles, bows, audience awareness).
4. Monitor smoothness of coordinated exits.
