Unit 7: Route and Transitions

LESSON 4: Forest Discovery
Age Group: 2-3 years old
Duration: 30 minutes

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Drama: Students will be able to demonstrate the celebratory actions.

  2. Music: Students will be able to sing the Rainbow Juice Song (Verse Four) and the Sharing Song confidently as a full cast. 

  3. Performance Readiness: Students will be able to enter smoothly, transition between groups, support one another, face the audience, freeze clearly, and exit with coordinated timing.  

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  1. Floor arrows or visual trails  
  2. Assigned spot markers for the Juice Party scene 
  3. Narrator script 
  4. Percussion instrument (chime or drum)

REMARK: If possible, carry out this lesson on the actual stage or performance space to help children become familiar with entrances, center positions, and exits in the real environment.


LESSON PROCEDURES:
1. Warm-up (3 minutes)

• Invite children to form a circle.
• Sing “Sharing Song” with designed movements.
• Guide open‑arm “celebration” gestures to warm up expression and confidence.  
 

2. Introduce the Juice Party Sequence (4 minutes)

• Present the final scene flow:  “Enter → Stand together → Show fruits → Sing → Celebrate → Freeze → Exit.”
• Invite children to watch a teacher demonstration of:  
  - holding fruit high so the audience can see  
  - turning bodies toward the audience  
  - smiling and celebrating together  
• Guide attention to smooth transitions between groups.

3.   Listen to the Narrator (3 minutes)

• Invite children to stand at the entrance zone.  
• Guide attention to the narrator’s cue : “All animal families, come to the Bears’ house.”
• Ring chime to reinforce listening and readiness.  

4. Full Sequence for Each Character Group (10 minutes) 

• Invite the Bear Family to enter first and stand in their assigned spots.  
• Invite each animal family to enter one by one following floor arrows.  
• Guide each group to:  
  - stand facing the audience  
  - lift their fruit clearly when their line is called  
  - maintain expressive posture  
• Reinforce group support: smiling, waiting calmly, encouraging one another.  
 

5. Rehearse the Juice Party Songs (6 minutes)

• Rainbow Juice Song — Verse Four

- Invite all families to stand together.  
- Guide singing with confident voices and open gestures.  
- Reinforce facing the audience and staying spread out.
 

• Sharing Song

- Invite children to sing with joyful expression.  
- Guide a clear freeze pose at the end.  
 

6. Smooth Exits & Celebration (2 minutes)

• Invite children to exit along visual trails calmly and proudly.  
• Guide a final bow or wave to celebrate progress.  
• Reinforce group encouragement and appreciation.   
 

7. Cool Down (2 minutes)

• Invite children to return to circle.  
• Lead soft breathing and gentle stretching.  

 


ASSESSMENT:

- Observe ability to follow the narrator’s cues and group order.  
- Assess clarity of fruit‑showing and audience‑facing posture.  
- Evaluate singing confidence and group coordination.  
- Monitor freeze poses, celebration gestures, and smooth exits.
