Course introduction:

Book Club ~ Phonics & Story is an early-literacy programme designed for children aged 2.5 to 4 years, supporting both graduates of our Toddler Playgroup and new learners beginning their literacy journey. The programme integrates phonics, storytelling, oral language development, and early comprehension through structured, play-based learning.

Classes run once per week (1 hour) and follow a theme-based curriculum, with each theme taught over 2–3 lessons.

Learning Outcomes:

• Early Literacy & Phonics: Children will recognise letters and sounds through multisensory phonics activities that build a strong foundation for early reading.
• Language & Communication: Children will develop listening, speaking, and comprehension skills through stories, rhymes, and guided conversations.
• Cognitive & Pre-Reading Skills: Children will strengthen early thinking skills such as matching, sequencing, predicting, and following simple instructions.
• Social & Emotional Development: Children will build confidence, cooperation, and positive classroom behaviours through interactive games and group activities.
