Materials Needed:

• Tale Bot robot

• Direction cards

• Forest animal pictures/toys

• Paper plates

• Animal clipart

• Forest backdrop mat

• Simple maze cards


Lesson Procedure

### 3 mins - Welcome Time

• Sing the "Hello Song"

• Introduce puppet friend "Forest Fox"

• Share excitement about exploring the forest

 

### 5 mins - Discovery Chat

• Show forest scene with animals

• Discuss simple food chain:

  - "Who eats the grass?"

  - "Who eats the rabbit?"

  - "Who eats the mouse?"

• Use hand gestures to show eating actions

 

### 12 mins - Hands-On Challenge 1: Food Chain Plates

• Create simple paper plate food chain:

  1. Give each child a paper plate

  2. Help place animal clipart in order:

     - Grass

     - Rabbit

     - Fox

  3. Stick arrows to show the direction of the chain

• Practice saying: "Rabbit eats grass, Fox eats rabbit"

 

### 12 mins - Hands-On Challenge 2: Tale Bot Review

• Set up simple paths with animal cards

• Review basic commands:

  - "Forward" (with hand motion)

  - "Backward" (with hand motion)

  - "Turn" (with body turn)

• Practice moving Tale Bot:

  - Reach the rabbit

  - Visit the mouse

  - Find the fox

 

### 10 mins - Hands-On Challenge 3: Food Chain Adventure

• Create simple food chain path:

  - Start at grass

  - Move to rabbit

  - End at fox

• Guide Tale Bot through path:

  - Use forward commands

  - Make simple turns

  - Celebrate at each animal

• Make eating sounds at each stop

 

### 3 mins - Wrap-Up

• Review who eats who

• Practice animal movements

• Sing "Goodbye Forest Friends" song
