Materials Needed:

- Flashlights (1 for teacher, 6-8 for activities)
- Cards with single gaps
- Collection of safe lenses:
  • Plastic convex lenses (6-8)
  • Plastic concave lenses (6-8)
  • Plastic prisms (6-8)
- Large white paper for path marking
- Washable markers/chalk
- Multiple light sources:
  • Different colored flashlights
  • LED lights
- Safety note: All materials child-safe, no glass components

Lesson Procedure

3 mins - Welcome Time

• Lead "Hello Song"
• Dim room lights partially
• Demonstrate straight light beam
• Show basic light path

 

5 mins - Discovery Chat  

• Display single gap card

• Introduce simple lens
